Having Gordon Ramsay's Cook book for long time without try one of his recipe but just read is a not so proud achievement for me. So one day, I try to search one recipe that I might can follow, and I stumble on "Bloody Mary Linguine" recipe. Since some (or most of them?) ingredients not available, now you know why I named my recipe "Bloody Mary Pasta Wannabe", because is so strange to nemed it "Supposed to be Bloody Mary Pasta" or "Just Like Bloody Mary Pasta", rite ?? So, here I am, with no Red Onion (that I change with White/Yellow Onion), no Tabasco sauce (that I change with sweet chilli sauce), no Vodka (that I skipped it), and no white breadcrumbs (that I change with biscotte), no Linguini (that change with Spaghetti), and add minced beef inside, I made my own recipe and I think it was good. You can try it :) Ingredients (for 2 persons) : - 1/2 White/Yellow Onion - 1 up to 2 garlic - 1 - 2tbsp Warchestershire sauce (Kecap Inggris in Bahasa) - 1tbsp sweet chilli sauce - 1-2 tea spoon sugar - 2 tomate - 1tbsp Tomate Sauce - Pasta spaghetti for 2 person - 2tbsp olive oil - 100-150gr minced beef - dry parsley - dry rosemary - salt & pepper For topping : - 1 - 2tbsp olive oil - 40gr biscotte - dry parsley - salt & black pepper Preparation : - Peel onion, and cut it on sliced. Put it separate. - Peel garlic, pressed it and cut it on minced. Put it separate. - Grated biscotte and put it separate. - Using sauce pan, cook spaghetti pasta on salty boily water all dente (around 10-13 minutes for whole wheat pasta). When pasta well cooked, take 25cl water from boiling pasta and put it separate, then drained the pasta and put it separate. Add a bit olive oil to avoid pasta get sticky one another. How to Cook : For Topping : - Using small frying pan, heat olive oil on medium heat for 1 minute. - Add grated biscotte, pinced salt and black pepper and mixed them well. - Add dry parsley and cook again until topping looks gold. - Transfer to a bowl and put aside. For Pasta : - Using large frying pan, heat olive oil on medium heat for half minutes. - Add minced beef and cook again until beef half cooked. - Add sliced onion, salt and pepper and cook again until onion and minced beef well cook. - Add garlic and continue to sauté for 2 minutes. - Add worchestershire sauce, Sweet chilli sauce, dry parsley, dry rosemary, salt, pepper and sugar and mixed them well. - Add tomate and sauce tomate and cook again for 10-15 minutes or until tomate well cook. - Add cooked pasta and mixed them well. - Add a bit of pasta water (you do not need to use all 25cl, just make sure your sauce is enough water inside) and cook them well. - Take it out and put it on a plate. - Add topping on top of your pasta, and your Pasta ready to served. Bon Appétit ! I can tell you, that the difficulty to cook this recipe is not because it was too complicated, but just because I have not enough tools in the kitchen here in Jakarta. Somehow my grater tool decide to hiding, so I can not found it. So, guess what, I grated the biscotte using fork, and garlic braker tools (that usually use to brake garlic. You can found it at Ramen restaurant, but mine made in IKEA). So, it was a challanging preparation I can tell. Fortunately, the result is satisfy, so I can write my recipe here.
And ..., since that day, I made several experiments with biscotte. I will tell you the recipe later on the other opporunities. As I said, it was easy to get lazy to cook while I am at Jakarta. Go Food or Delivery service is a phone away with price and effort (cook, clean) that more tempted. I hope I try to write one or twice a week. I hope. (/fin)
