It's has been a while since the last time I share my blog recipe. This past two weeks, I was busy reading a technical book (IT) and also help on preparation for my senior high school's reunion on next Sept 17th. Off course I can't come due to the event is in Jakarta, but it was not reduce my passion to involved on the commitee. My husband can't understand it ,"You even can't come and participate on the date of reunion", that what he said to me. I just raise my shoulder and not argument much. I know it is difficult to be understand by people outside the power of community in Jakarta. Moreover this community called Tarakanita. From where I learnt much from the past, the place where I start growing up my independent. So, to be part of that, eventhough I will not able (body and flesh) be there on the day of reunion, is Something very important for me. So, this morning I try to start to write again, not about the reuinon (dooh ..), but about one recipe I learnt from my Netherland's friend. He is a chef (real chef) and a husband of my Indonesian friend who live in Heerlen (Netherland). From last year, each summer they visit us here in France, and stay 4 up to one week. He demonstrate how to make the better boulettes de bœuf. Even I need to practise more to be the way he made, but here is the recipe .. Ingrédients (for 2 persons) : - 300gr minced beef - 70 up to 100gr biscotte - 1 egg - half onion or red onion - 3 up to 4tbsp sweet soya sauce - 125gr butter - 2tbsp olive oil - Salt & Pepper - dry shallot - dry garlic Preparation : - Grate de biscotte and put it separate - Peel onion and cut it on minced. Put it separate. - Put minced beef on the bowl. Crack and add in the eggs, grate biscotte, minced onion, salt, Pepper, dry shallot and dry garlic. Mixed them well until batter well mixed. Create small ball around 3 up 40 4cm the diameter. Put it separate. How to Cook : - Using frying pan, melt the butter on the medium heat. - Add olive oil and mixed them well. - Add ball of the beef and cook around 2 up to 3 minutes each side. - Roll on all the ball of beef until all side well cook. - When all the ball of the beef well cook, add sweet soya sauce, mixed them well and make sure all ball of the beef covered with the sauce, around 1 up to 2 minutes. - Turn off the stove , take out the pan from heat and mix again ball of the beef with the sauce. - Take out and served it with pasta or potatoes or vegetables, include the sweet sauce. Bon Appétit ! As you see, my boulettes de bœuf sucrée (picture on the right) has less sauce. That's because I let my ball of the beef too long on the frying pan. So almost all sauce been caramelized. That's why I suggest only for 1 up to 2 minutes maximum, then you must turn of the stove take out pan from the heat and mix them well with the sauce before served it.
JP (my friend) 's boulettes de bœuf sucrée we consume with potatoes and ratatouille, and mine, I served it with pasta mix with vegetables sauce (cucumber, yellow paprika and tomate). All are delicious and Worth to try (again) .. Actually this recipe named by me, my friend just say it as beef ball. But since you can made it with many kind of sauce, then this one is the one with sweet sauce. (sweet = sucrée in France). (/fin)
