This time I want to share my new recipe from vegetables. In Indonesia we called it Tumis Wortel-Tauge, or in English I can translate as Carrot Bean Sprout Stir Fry. Tumis or Stir Fry is the common way to cook vegetables in Indonesia. I do not know whether in Chine as well, but in Indonesia if we have Chinese restaurant, they have many kinds of stir fry vegetables. This one I made because I have carrots and want to cook vegetables other than make a salad or Ratatouille, because Ratatouille become a common dishes that I cook whenever I need to eat vegetables beside made a salad. At first my husband a bit skeptic with my dishes, but then after he tried, he said it was delicious. Well, it's not common for French to eat or cook stir fry. They prefer salad or potatoes or pasta. So, how to make it ? Let's start .. Ingrédients (for 2 persons) : - 3 carrots - 125gr can of bean sprouts - 2 garlic - 2 shallot - 1 egg - 2 tbsp olive oïl - 2 up to 4tbsp sesame oïl - 100cl water - Salt & Pepper - dry chives Preparation : - Peel carrots, and cut it on shape of long cube (around 3cm). Put it separate. - Peel garlic and cut it on minced. Put it separate. - Break the egg on the bowl and whisk them well. Put it separate. - Peel shallot, and cut it on sliced. Put it separate. How to Cook : - Using frying pan, heat olive oïl on medium heat. - Add garlic and shallot and cook again until shallot well cook. Take it out and separate it. - Add egg on the frying pan, and make scramble eggs in it. - When scramble eggs well cook, add again garlic and shallot cooked Inside. - Add carrot, salt, Pepper, sesame oïl and cook again until carrot half cook. - Add bean sprout and water little by little until all vegetables well cook. - Add dry chives and cook again around 1-2 minutes until all well cook. - Take out and served it with rice and another carbo ( I use fried salmon as a side platter). Bon Appétit! People in Europe do not use to eat ; rice + vegetables + carbo, not like Indonesian. They used to eat just rice/vegetables + carbo. Thus, I reduce the amount of rice, consider we have Carrot Bean Sprout Stir Fry as a vegetable side dish.
Please ignore my colourful rice, that's because I mix the rest of Thai rice with Wheat Rice, so they mix colour white and creme/chocolate. Anyway, I was pleased to have another recipe for vegetables. Healthy food, healthy life, right ? (/fin)
