This is part of my experiment in cooking. As you might know I do not like cucumber. For me, it is tasteless and Strange. Not in Jakarta, not in here, I do not like it. If you remember about my kind neighbour with their vegetables garden, they once give us cucumber as well. Two I gave it to my mother in law (hahaha .., a quick way to remove it from my ingrédients), and the last two I (like it or not) kept it. Then I try to search on internet, whether any possibilities to cook those cucumber. Apparently they have, and from several recipe on internet, they cook it just like to make ratatouille. So, on one fine day, I try to cook it and serve it with fillet fish and a bit of rice (I use black rice, but you can use normal rice too).

One new habbit since I wrote this blog is I always wondering how the dishes cuisine/cook everytime I go to the restaurant. Like just yesterday, while waiting our "Resident Evil" movie on cinema, we eat at one of our favorite at Jakarta, called "Pancious". This restaurant specialize for (usually) pasta and pancake/waffle. I just notice that now they have new menu Burger. While my husband stick on his pancake everytime we eat there, me as well stick with Pasta, and the usual Pasta that I always order is called "Hot Tuna Pasta". It was spicy and my husband said that it was simple to make it. I thought so. Thus today I try to make Hot Tuna Pasta on my own recipe. Why I call my own, because I use whole meat pasta spaghetti (they use normal spaghetti) and beside the fresh chilli, I use dry chili, and not much, consider my husband not really support chilli. No, I do not learn Italian. French language is enough for me to get headache (LOL) to decide taken another language apart Dutch that I've been learnt before. I used almost the same title on the recipe I made tonight. As usual, the idea taken from the recipe book I had. The original one using white wine, but since I do not have it, so I skip it. The same with tuna, I used canned tuna. It was better to use chunk tuna, thus you do not need to cut the tuna. So, here is my recipe of Linguine con Tonno or Linguini with Tuna. After several time try from my cook book, now I am back to my experiments with pasta. From all pasta : spaghetti, fettuchini, penne, macaroni, etc, I am not really favorite with penne. Just because I cook always spaghetti or macaroni, once a while my husband ask me for penne. So this one I cook with some experiments (no cook book, no Google). I cook it with shrimp and my husband like it too. I think you can change shrimp with chicken as well. Not all the time I cook with seafood. Btw Crevette = Shrimp in English. Here we go .. This is another recipe that I mastered. I mean I can cook without check out the recipe. As long as not everyday I cook this dishes, no complaint so far from my husband :) If you do not have canned of tuna, you can change it with canned of salmon. Just remember that with tuna, it more dry when you cooked it compare to salmon, so you can reduce the oil a bit, compare to if you make oglio olio with tuna. |
