It's been a while since I want to cook pasta with pesto sauce. But I didn't learn how to make the sauce pesto from the scratch (maybe later), because my husband normally do not like pesto sauce. He said it was too oily (fat .. fat .. fat ..) so he do not like it. While we are at Jakarta and order pasta with pesto sauce as well, we found out that those pesto sauce is too oily. I also not fancy because of that. Just two weeks ago we just go back from our short summer escape at Prague, Vienna, Budapest to accompany my friend from Jakarta who visit us at home at France. It was fun and challanging trip (because not all planned, actually all planned on instant. Really not like me usually, and surprise with vignette regulation here and there on the East Europe), and we ended up to visit Ljubjana at Slovénie on the back to France. While passed by close border to Italy, I found out one pesto sauce on the mini-market at gas station. So, I buy it, and open one of my cooking books (ahhh ..., I remember that I want to share as well the cooking book I had. Will do .., will do ..) "Cuisine Super Facile" (= Easy Cook), and try to cook my first Pasta Pesto. Really easy with the ready to use sauce. Ingrédients (for 2 persons) : - Pasta Spaghetti for 2 persons. - 1 chicken breast - 5 up to 6 mushrooms - 2 garlic - 2tbsp olive oil - 4tbsp pesto sauce - Salt & Pepper - 1 up to 2 tbsp parmesan cheese - Basilic for garnish Preparation : - Cut chicken breast into shape of cubes. Put it aside. - Clean the mushroom and cut it sliced. Put it aside. - Peel the garlic and cut it on minced. Put it aside. - Using sauce-pan, cook pasta spaghetti on salty boil water around 10 up to 13 minutes (al dente). Take a bit of pasta boil water aside and dried off the spaghetti. Put it aside. How to Cook : - Using frying pan, pre-heat olive oil around half minutes, then add garlic Inside. - Let them cook around one minutes. - Add mushroom Inside until it half cook. - Add chicken, salt, Pepper and cook again until chicken and mushroom well cook. - Add cooked pasta spaghetti Inside and add pesto sauce and parmesan cheese. - Mixed them all well, you can add a bit of pasta boil water Inside. - Add basilic for garnish. - Take it out and served it on the plate. Bon appétit! I can tell that not much pesto Inside and not oily like the one I found at the restaurant at Jakarta. So far my husband do not complaint and me myself prefer the kind of pesto like this. If you want more, you can add more pesto sauce Inside. And I promise to check out how to make pesto sauce by myself. Actually I already had one of the recipe from my cook book "100 recettes de pâtes". I just need to try it next time.
