Expecting me to write (almost) everyday at Jakarta is really difficult. Most of the time while I am here, I meet up with families and friends. Friends from office, last office, high school, university, etc .. and sometimes we're out to finish some paper works to do, and ended up eat at restaurant or my parents house, or friend's house. Thus since I return to Jakarta I think I only cook 4 or 5 times only. This Chicken Fried Rice actually I cook two days ago. While in one part we need to do saving, and in another part I have several ingredients that need to cook. The way of cook is mixed between my Nasi Goreng Special recipe and Riz sauté au Lardon et à l'Ananas recipe that I made months ago. This time I try to make it with Kecap Inggris or refer to Gordon Ramsay's Cook Book (Gordon Ramsay's Ultimate Home Cooking), that I do not yet practise it except read it (LOL), it called Sauce Worcestershire. My cousin, Nanda, once he know that I had blog recipe, he ask his mom (my auntie) and told me that refer to my auntie, Nasi Goreng is more delicious using this Sauce Worcestershire (Kecap Inggris in Bahasa). I trust my auntie, who just like my mom and my mother in law can cook anything ! Anything ! So, here I am with my Chicken Fried Rice. Well, we call it Nasi Goreng Ayam in Bahasa :) Ingredients (for 2 persons) : - Rice 1 up to 1.5 cup - 3 garlic - 35gr butter - 1/2 onion - 1 chicken breast or 4 chicken chunck - 2tbsp Salty Soja Sauce - 2tbsp Sauce Worcestershire (Kecap Inggris) - 1tbsp Sweet Soja Sauce - dry Parsley - 2 eggs - Salt & Pepper Preparation : - Using rice cooker or sauce pan, cook rice with proportion rice : water is 1 : 1.5. When cooked, put it separate. - Peel garlic, pressed it and cut it minced. Put it separate. - Peel onion, cut it on sliced and put it separate. - Cut chicken on small cubes add pepper on top of it and put it separate. - Crack eggs on the bowl and whisk them well. Add salt and whisk them again. Put it separate. How to Cook : - Using sauce pan, heat 25gr butter on medium heat, then add garlic. - Add onion and cook again for around 1 minute. - Add chicken and mixed them well. - When chicken is almost cook, put mixed chicken and onion on the side, and pour the whisk of eggs. - Mixed the eggs until it made a scatter scramble eggs. - When scramble eggs is well cook, then you can mixed them with chicken and onion. Mixed them well. - Add cooked rice, salty soja sauce, sauce worcestershire, sweet soja sauce, pepper and mixed them well. - Add 10gr butter and dry parsley and mixed them well until all mixed. - Taste it, and if needed you can add salt/pepper or soja sauce if needed. - Take it out and served it on the plate. Bon Appétit! I found out that Sauce Worcestershire made my Fried Rice is better (and tasty). I think I will try it again when I back to France. I just need to find this sauce at supermarket. I suppose it exist, consider England is not far from France (as if it had relation :p).
Another thing I notice here, the garlic and shallot is smaller than in France. Moreover shallot. If you want it, you can add dry shallot on top of your Chicken Fried Rice. Happy Cooking ! (/fin)
